About me
I was born in a small village in central India and brought up at Indore. I studied in Choithram School till 5th standard and then my parents moved to Ujjain. I finished rest of my schooling at St Mary's Convent School.
I graduated from Vikram University in Commerce and Accounting but I was much more interested in computers, and decided to make my career in Computers.
I founded a broadband company InNet Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2002. After successfully running the company for 2 years, I sold the company to a local cable company. I served as member of the board for 6 months, after which I started looking for other opportunities.
Currently I am working with one of the world's biggest internet companies.
Apart from computing I have played professional chess, and was District champion 4 times consecutively, Got top seeding at State levels and represented State once in Nationals.
I work on Python, Java, JavaScript and almost all XML based languages. I just finished a SVG Application, to demonstrate the power of SVG on the browser.
I developed few firefox extensions, and use Chickenfoot & Firebug extensively.
I am very much excited about web2.0, various Google/Yahoo/Facebook APIs and how to leverage it as a development platform.
Currently, I am reading XQuery to use it on Berkeley DBXML. I like embedded databases, and used Berkeley DB in several projects.
What fascinates me is the developments taking place in the cloud computing, and the way companies are opening their infrastructure for developers, so that they don't have to worry about scaling issues.
I have used YUI, Prototype and Mochikit.
I am not very good at CSS, and learn by reading other's stylesheet code. I got a book CSS Definitive Guide, which I hope to finish reading by end of this quarter
I also invest in stocks, and keep track of economy, interest rates and inflation :).
