I think Abhinav Bindra is getting more attention and money than he deserves. For countries like US, China winning gold in Olympics and other sports has become a habit, and I dont think US govt. will start paying millions of dollars to all those who won Gold, and every tv channel you surf, will just talk about Abhinav Bindra.
Same applies to Mahinder Singh Dhoni, when he hits sixes and help India win a match. He gets crores of rupees from various state Governments.
What difference all these events make in our lives. And instead of gifting crores of rupees to these sportsman, Govt. should fund the NGO's who are really making a difference in people's lives.
I am concerned, because all the money that govt. spends is going out of my taxes.

Next week Star plus is airing a new game show "Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hai", a game show based on Mark Burnett's "Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader".
The show will be hosted by Shahrukh Khan
Each game is played by an individual contestant, who is presented with the chance to win up to Rupees 5 Crore by answering questions taken from the syllabus of a fifth grade level or lower.
The contestant is presented with 10 subject cards, which he may answer in the order of his choice. Each correct answer moves the contestant higher up the ladder of money values. If a contestant answers all 10 questions correctly, he is given the chance to answer an 11th question which on answering correctly will get him Rupees 5 Crore.
